What is Domestic Hot Water (DHW)
Domestic hot water, regardless of how it is produced, is used by households and businesses for cooking, bathing (showers), cleaning, and of course for space heating (radiators). Especially in industry, hot water at the point of vaporization has many other uses.
From the perspective of energy consumption, the production of domestic hot water represents 25–40% of a household’s total energy usage. Traditionally, domestic hot water is produced by electric water heaters or central heating systems. All solutions, regardless of how much they consume, require electricity to operate (electrical/electronic parts, circulators, motors, etc.).
Producing domestic hot water from solar systems is the most environmentally friendly solution, free from even minimal electricity consumption.
